General And Special Rules of Sentencing for Crimes: Principles of Justice, Individualization and Humanism

This article provides a scientific and legal analysis of the general and special rules of sentencing for crimes established in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The importance of the principles of justice, humanism and individualization in sentencing is examined. The legal foundations of imposing a more lenient punishment than prescribed by law and its application in judicial practice are also discussed. The views of scholars who have conducted research in this field are analyzed, and relevant practical proposals are presented to improve the norms governing the institution of criminal sentencing
